► If you were asked to cosplay as a female anime/manga/game character for an entire con, which one(s) would you be okay with?
I actually sorta look like Miyako from Pani Poni Dash already, just, a guy, obviously. So she'd be something I could manage that wouldn't look completely off.
I wouldn't be adverse to cosplaying as any female character, really, as long as I looked halfway decent as her. I'd welcome being able to understand what girls go through when it comes to stuff like high heels and things like that, just to relate better. I'm sure no matter what, I'd have some interesting new perspectives by the end of the con.
► If you and Krile could have your honeymoon in any of the video game worlds, which one would it be in?
Oh, this is a tough one because there are so many. It's a hard choice between a world where nothing bad would happen during the honeymoon and one where it'd be exciting enough. Maybe something like... going through a Pokemon game together? Lots of fun, cute adventures without any real risk involved. And plenty of stops at Pokemon Centers
► What was the first video game you remember ever playing in your tiny Slime days?
I remember seeing arcade games like Donkey Kong and Pac-Man when my parents would take me to places that had them (pizza places, back then, often did) and so I probably played something like that first. But in terms of the first game I really remember playing, it was the original Super Mario Brothers on the NES. I got that for my birthday that year, and a couple of days later on Christmas we got R.C. Pro-Am to go along with it.
► Do you speak a foreign language? If not, which language would you want to pick up first if you could?
Yeah, my major was Spanish and my minor was Japanese in college, so I can speak a bit of both (Spanish MUCH more than Japanese). Ideally I'd like to get a job at some point that used one or the other (or both), but I enjoy keeping up with my skills at the moment, at least. I really wish my Japanese was better, though.
Other than that, languages like Arabic, German, and Chinese compete for the spot of "next on the list" in my brain.
► I will ask everyone this question: What's your favorite Pokémon of each generation?
Okay this is hard as hell for me, so I promise I'll try to limit it to at least three of each gen. My love cannot be contained...
1st gen: Probably Jolteon overall, although I'm a big fan of my Charmander starter and its evolutions.
2nd gen: Xatu, Octillery, Typhlosion... so many good ones in Johto <3
3rd gen: Um, Numel and Breloom... also Skitty because of Krile.
4th gen: BUIZEL, BABY. It's my favorite Pokemon of them all. Easy one.
5th gen: Dammit, this is hard. I love Deerling, Dewott, and Emolga, among about 50 others.

Date: 2011-05-13 02:37 am (UTC)Although I gotta say that gothic lolita Pokemon and all the evolutions call out to me. XD I'm sure you could've guessed that.
=/ but you know me-- I'm "anti-fandom of the moment" and hardly ever get into anything that's the hype of the moment. But Sasuke is kinda like Tea from YGO. In the great words of Solid Snake "Just. Don't. Like. Him."
"Calabozo" -- my gosh-- I've not heard that word in years I completely forgotten about it! O_o honestly if I'd remember that one instead of learning "masmorras" I think I'd use it instead. However from the gamers at my uncle's PC room when visiting Chile, I think gamers stick to "masmorras" regardless of the local Spanish. Then again, "calabozo" also goes on to mean a "prison" in a deep dark place. I guess in context close enough, but that's the beauty of getting lost in translation= it's all in the eye of the user.
XD that's probably the funniest colloquial expression I know. I don't think it's is just from Chile, but many Spanish speaking countries. It basically means the same as saying "you can stick it where the sun don't shine," -- you just don't care what they've got to say about whatever.
Trust me it makes no literal sense to me either, but that's what makes it funny. XD I guess because literally sending monkeys to fry up in Guayaquil (super far off in Ecuardor I think) is so absurd and makes no sense, just as the person you're trying to tell...well ya know XD
But it always makes people laugh when I translate that one, heh heh. One day I'll get around to finding definitions to all those wacky sayings.
XP I'll watch them Ponies. I've seen a few clips, so yeah looks cool and defo reminds me of PPG. As far as Candy Candy, this is one series that would've been wonderful to seen in English, as the whole story takes place mostly in America and England and there's NOTHING Japanese about it. But hey, I was happy to find it in the original Spanish I got to see when I was a kid. Now as an adult is cool to re-watch and understand more of the locations in America now that I live here. :) so it's been a very enriching retro moment as I watch this.

Date: 2011-05-13 03:51 am (UTC)I don't think I could bring myself to like Sasuke or anyone like him, really. He's just... trying too hard. We get it, you're a "bad boy" and the "rival". Now go away.
I kind of doubt he gets the same kind of treatment that Tea did back then, though... a shame >;D
The thing about the word "dungeon" in English is that it's technically supposed to be a prison... but RPGs use that term for anything, including wide-open spaces! Anywhere to explore where there are monsters to fight, pretty much. It's not really translation-friendly as a result.
I googled that saying and apparently you can replace Guayaquil with other "far-off" places and I guess it must mean the same thing xD I mean, if you live near Guayaquil, it must not seem like that big of a deal...
My big Pony post from a while back has all the relevant links to download the episodes from, so reference that when you're ready ;D
Sounds like fun times with Candy Candy! It's always a blast to revisit childhood favorites and find new ways to appreciate them. Funny how the Wikipedia page for it specifically mentions Chile! No wonder you got into it.
