CUTE RPGS FOREVER

For all my PS3 people: fl0w is available for free on the PSN today only, so go download it or something. I played approx. 1 minute of it before I had to go to work, but rest assured it felt GOOD to play it for that minute. Because it was free.

I'm not sure what the plans are for Valentine's this year (I'm leaving it up to her, I'm still all romance'd out from Christmas), but I'm hoping it will relate to this:



Yeah, I'm hoping she'll totally be willing. To play Dragon Quest games with me.

The PS3 is back up and running, so I've been plowing through SMT: Nocturne again like it was a dirty whore on discount. It's interesting how much progress you can make when determined, also 2nd playthroughs are usually much quicker than the first, so I should be caught up in no time.

I think I might've mentioned it before, but Secret of Mana on the Virtual Console is amazing. Not only because it's a great classic game, but the multiplayer is so much easier on the Wii. I never got to play it more than 2 players back in the day... I mean, who had a multitap? Seriously. But yeah, this game is still incredible. It's hard to believe they actually had to cut this game down a bit because it was originally slated for the SNES's CD system. I'd love to see an HD remake of this game with all the content that was cut added in. Then again... this goes for 99% of my favorite games :D~

Also, I unfortunately have almost zero desire to finish Pokémon Platinum now because of all the awesome HeartGold/SoulSilver news >_> HOW CAN YOU DO THIS TO US. Maybe I'll actually completely fill out my Pokédex this time, though. That's some goal to work towards.

... I need to finish all these damned games. (So I can play more)

I am now the proud father owner of a 60GB PS3.

Well... not really proud, since the only reason I got one right now is because they're dropping backwards compatibility from future revisions of the console, and I want the best BC I can get. I mean, no sense in keeping a PS1, PS2, and a PS3 all on my precious shelf space if I don't need to, right?

It's supposed to be some kind of Christmas present or something, but nobody wanted to shell out the money for it right at the moment, so I had to plunk down the cash myself.

And when it arrived, of COURSE I had to set it up just to make sure it worked with PS1 and PS2 games and everything else, before 60GB PS3s with the Emotion Engine chip cease to exist (or sells for $1000 on eBay...)

... and it's still set up here, and I'm using it to play upscaled PS2 games and watch videos and stuff. And likely here it shall remain, although I won't be getting any actual PS3 games until the holidays. Still, something seems weird about it all...

I don't know why, but I fear this thing.

It's big and black and scary. And expensive. And I'm really not supposed to have it yet so it feels like I'm breaking some cosmic law that will come back to haunt me.

But, it actually is a pretty swanky thing, what with wireless controllers (that have rechargeable batteries in them, all right!) and upscaling PS1 and PS2 games to look prettier, and being able to use those 60GB to store movie files on to watch on TV.

... I just don't like being alone in the living room with it late at night by myself =(
