Necesito Estudiar

On Tuesday, for my oral final in Japanese (
krile always giggles whenever I mention oral quizzes, by the way), I get to talk with my teacher for 10 minutes straight. Answering questions, all in Japanese. Needless to say, I'm planning on studying quite a bit for it from now until then. Well, besides writing this post, and various other things, but you get my point. I'm not too nervous about it but I just want to make sure I can do it in my sleep before I go in there on Tuesday.
Earlier this week we went in to get our phones upgraded (because we were due for one, I had my previous phone for about 2 years), and now I have a RAZR instead of.. the random other phone I had before. I'm not a huge cell phone person, I don't really care to have a fancy one with lots of capabilities, but at least this phone looks pretty cool. Plus it's very light and thin, so when I slip it into my pocket it's not bulky or in the way.
Unfortunately, Verizon has seen fit to disable one of the primary reason why I would choose that phone, namely being able to transfer files over via Bluetooth. You know, so I can actually put wallpapers and ringtones on there that I would like as opposed to the ones they have for sale via their own little service. My options are basically to either research trying to hax into this phone myself or going back to the Verizon store and making them enable that feature.
Anyway, I just thought I would put the word out about that in case anyone with Verizon might be interested in a RAZR. It's only Verizon themselves doing it, none of the other providers disable the Bluetooth file transfer. I want my free obscure video game backgrounds and ringtones, dammit.
Additionally, I've been playing quite a bit of .hack.//G.U. now that Valkyrie Profile 2 has been beaten. I didn't play any of the previous .hack games, and from what I understand, GU is not much different from them, which caused some people to rate it low. Of course, that doesn't affect me, so I'm free to enjoy it on its own.
And it is pretty darn enjoyable. I would take this kind of game over a real MMORPG anyday. (Wow! It didn't take me a whole hour and a half to gain one level! No monthly fee! No assholish players to deal with! No lag! NO LEVEL DOWN!!!) ... as you can tell I'm not a huge fan of them.
Haseo is an amusing main character, or rather, Haseo being tortured by every single other character he meets is amusing to no end. The battle system is fun and the various sidequests aren't completely annoying like a lot of them have been in RPGs lately.
There's also something weird and amusing about "browsing internet forums" and "checking your email" in a game. And sending overly kawaii/happy greeting cards that Haseo would never in a million years send to other characters.
I've still only seen one episode of the anime, although I'll probably watch it all since I'm playing the game.
Now, I must study. So very, very much.

Date: 2006-12-10 10:45 pm (UTC)And if you hadn't played the first four, not missing too much. GU's fixed a lot of the things that weren't so good about them, and you can pick up the first games' story not too badly other places.

Date: 2006-12-10 11:19 pm (UTC)I can pretty much watch any anime in small doses provided it's a reasonable length and it has something going for it. Past 26 episodes or so, and I usually don't bother, though.
