slimequest: (THAT IS INAPPROPRIATE TOUCHING)

Thieving this meme from my bro [livejournal.com profile] ansemaru

Name a fandom and I'll give you some unpopular opinions about it.

I should note that probably all of my opinions are unpopular so this will just be me rambling about things. I think most of my interests are on my userinfo page, although I don't list a lot of anime on there for some reason. Not enough room, really.

I'm completely caught off-guard by this!

Note that I really, REALLY have no idea what constitutes popular or unpopular in MGS fandom at all.

1. I think Eva is pretty awesome.
2. The sidescrolling parts of Snake's Revenge are actually kind of neat to play through.
3. Like [livejournal.com profile] ansemaru, I do sort of miss the hilarious accents. Also the terrible Engrish (I feel asleep).
4. I LIKE RAIDEN. A LOT.
5. Since I'm a BIG BAD STRAIGHT MALE GAMER, I suppose it's unpopular for me to completely support/approve of Snake/Otacon.
6. I like the Nintendo toys in Otacon's desk area from Twin Snakes.
7. From what I remember, Portable Ops wasn't THAT difficult to control, but yeah that second analog stick would've made all the difference in the world.
8. I can't actually remember a lot of the specifics of MGS4, but I think there were some parts I genuinely enjoyed. Mostly gameplay or easter egg related, but even then... okay it's impossible to comment on MGS4 without a million caveats involved so let's stop here.
9. But while we're on the subject, I would've been much more attracted to the BB Corps ladies if they'd been real characters instead of random doomed supermodels, among other things.
10. (Headcanon) The NES Metal Gear instruction manual storylines are actually rough drafts of scripts Otacon has penned for his fan-made games based on Snake's exploits. Names changed to protect the innocent, and all that.
