slimequest: (Being a bishy brother is hard work)

Working until midnight then having to get up to work again at 8AM is probably not my most favorite scenario to be put in! This morning in particular I'm dead to the world it seems XD;

But that's okay! At least I get the evening off to partay~

Recently finished up Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn and FINALLY Paper Mario, god I downloaded Paper Mario a little after it first came out on the VC so it took me a while xD;;

This means now I have the opportunity to replay Suikoden V, and I've cracked open my Player's Choice copy of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door for good measure.

Oh man, Suikoden V is so goooood, I had forgotten. I love the setting and the characters and everything. The whole HAPPY FAMILY beginning is especially nice, although I can't wait to get to the meat of the game and start recruiting stars. I didn't get all 108 last time so I'm keeping my eyes peeled >_> At least you can run SUPERFAST in Newgame+, not to mention the fact that I'm RICH, I TELL YOU, RICH! Yeah that should make things easier xD

Also, Suikoden as a series has the HAWTEST GAME GIRLZ, for serious. Hey even [livejournal.com profile] krile agrees with me! Obviously any series that has Jeane in it is pretty tough to beat in that category.

So far I like the Gamecube Paper Mario game better than the original... and I have no idea why! Well obviously the brighter colors and easier to read text and all is a plus, but it just seems more polished and... fun? Not that I didn't like the original or anything, although from what I've read online the original is a fan-favorite (not too surprising, that's usually the case). I mean, I would've killed for Paper Mario back in the N64's heyday but by the time it came out I had moved on to bigger and better RPGs~

I also keep forgetting to post my info for Animal Crossing: Wild World :O!

It's fun so far, although with these kind of games that continue to "run" even when you turn the game off, I'm always afraid of neglecting it XD; My Nintendogs are skeletons by now, I assure you.

Oh! I must give you my AC details. But I think I lived out your fear and let my town die. I think I will start again. And then give you my details. :D

Sounds good! Yeah I'd hate to lose my progress but turning on the game to a town full of weeds and moved-out people would be horrifying xD;

I am pretty sure I saw a penguin with Typhoid begging on the side of the street the last time I turned it on...

After playing the game for about a day I was divinely inspired! And now I'm way too lazy to ever change it, probably xD

Suikoden V has the best political intrigue to me :) (Although Suikoden II is very close.)
This is definitely the trickiest Suikoden so far, recruitment-wise. (%##$ detectives!)

Ugh Oboro was one of the ones I missed last time, yeah xD; I did manage to get Fuyo somehow, though.

Can't wait to get Viki again, that's always a treat XD

Ah, Jeane...your fanboys wonder when will you show up naked.
Actually, you can get Oboro and Company by speaking to Oboro a number of times but you have to finish it before the crowning ceremony.
P/S: Watch out for Nakula.

See, if Jeane actually is naked in Suikoden 6 or whatever... where could she go from there? Plus she's the type to at least leave something to the imagination, being so mysterious and all.

I've got the strategy guide and various FAQs with me as I play, so I'll hopefully catch 'em all. I remember Nakula being one of the hardest ones to recruit for having a very limited timeframe to do it.

Apparently, that doesn't stop fanboys from having their fantasies, lol. (She has so little clothing already, so slow down a bit Jeane!)
Basically, you can't recruit Nakula if you don't visit the Sable inn before going to the Island Nations (As far as I remember). His timeframe is so stupid, he makes Cathari look easy.

Seriously, Jeane would probably look good in anything, maybe she'll be a bit more covered-up and sophisticated-looking in the next game, who knows? It's not like she NEEDS to show that much skin to get attention.

I think I actually could've recruited Nakula last time I played but I didn't bother because he was being dumb and I was using that as an excuse to play through a second time anyway.

Also, I think I'll friend you if that's okay? I could always use more Persona 3 and Suikoden fans on the ol' Friends List, among other things! HOLY CRAP PEOPLE PLAYED LEGEND OF LEGAIA BESIDES ME?

To be prefectly honest, I like Jeane a lot more in Suikoden 3. Elegant sophistication is the way to go!
I don't mind at all and HOLY CRAP SOMEONE ELSE PLAYED LEGEND OF LEGAIA BESIDES ME OMG.

*Sniff* I'm always so touched when I find anyone who has played the rare RPGs that I've played.

I agree, elegance is underrated, it's far more sexy to me.

I know how you feel, when I find someone who has played some obscure RPG that I thought only I knew about, it's the most awesome thing ever. Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one who owns a copy of some of these games! It's like finding a long-lost sibling, or something.

Damn, now I want to go play Legend of Legaia. I spent far too much time playing those minigames in that tower place.

My fondest memory of befriending a person in real life because of a video game:
Some girl: Bla bla bla Luca Blight bla bla...
Me: *Rushes over* You play Suikoden!?

I remember playing a lot of games in Sol Tower too, but my favorite moment was discovering that we could fish Lippians.

It'd be awesome to meet someone in real life that way! I've never experienced that really, mostly I make friends and then force them to play all the games I like XD Usually they start out having played some mainstream RPGs and then I corrupt them with obscure goodness.

I remember the fishing too, although I don't think I ever fished enough to win any of the good prizes. It was fun though!

I managed to get one of my friends to play Suikoden 3. Score one for obscure fandoms! I think part of the reason why I'm just not interested in real life friends is because they don't play RPGs hence no chance of me converting them, boo! That girl I was talking about is thinking of playing Persona 3 though.

Getting the top prize takes too many points, but man, there is scarcely a funnier thing to see than to see a Lippian stuck on your fishing hook.

That's awesome, we could always use more Suikoden fans! I tend to recommend RPGs to my two younger brothers (who I raised up playing RPGs, so they're already familiar with Legend of Legaia and various other series), though they don't play them as much as I do anymore. I also don't usually bother with IRL friends at the moment either, it's usually my girlfriend [livejournal.com profile] krile that I play RPGs with along with family and the like. But all my internet friends conveniently love RPGs, naturally!

Damn, now I'm really craving Legend of Legaia! Did you ever play Legaia: Duelsaga? I actually own it (I think I stole it from my brother or something) but I only played a very short amount of it. It's probably not as good as the original classic game, but hey, more Legaia!

My brother doesn't play the PS 2 any more (Good thing, because I snagged Shadow Hearts from him!) but my sister does and she likes every RPG I play. She normally plays turn-based RPGs.

I played Legaia: Duel Saga a long time ago. The battle system is more polished and the story is fairly decent but the encounter rate is Suikoden 4 wtf-worthy and I found the original game to be a lot more memorable.
Also, I want to take this moment to say that the first boss makes me want to cry because it was so hard to beat.

I managed to "acquire" several games from my brothers once they started buying their own games, after they beat or stopped playing them. It's a very affordable way to add to the collection! I'd take better care of them than they would anyway.

I completely do not remember how far I got or what I did in Duelsaga, other than the old guy saying "THESE GUYS ARE MAKIN' ME THIRSTY" after battle which was hilarious to me for some reason.
