Just check your automatic payments to see if they're not turned on. I think that's the main thing that will affect you. Otherwise, it's just LJ deciding to fix what's not broken, piss off customers by answering everything with 'deal with it', and deciding they want to go up against Facebook. Great time for popcorn.
