1. Looking back through the annals of time, sources suggest Pokemon was the first anime I ever watched. The first anime I watched and identified as "anime", rather than "this cool show I watch", however, was Tenchi Muyo.
My first manga was Rurouni Kenshin. I started reading it because I thought the few episodes of the anime I'd seen were awesome.
2. I am very, very far from being a neatfreak. The most organized things I have are my favorites on deviantart and my icons folder on my computer. Otherwise, everything I have is a complete and utter mess, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
3. There's... well, I'd say 70% of my music is video game soundtracks. Plus Homestuck music, which is essentially a bonus to the Earthbound soundtrack, y'know? There are a couple of anime soundtracks (Nabari no Ou and Madoka), Disney songs, a smattering of Vocaloid, a heap of anime opening and ending themes that caught my attention, and some bad pop from various FSTs. There may be things that don't fit that mold but that is the majority of my musical taste.
4. I'd never expected to enjoy Mass Effect! I'm not a Western RPG person by a long shot, and my first thought was "eh, shooty game in space, not my kind of thing". Then I watched a friend play it, and was overwhelmed. Because yes, there was shooting in space, but there were also dialogue options that were well-written, and there were aliens that blew my mind. The more I saw of the series, the more I warmed to it. Just a lesson I like to keep in mind now! Not every game will be what you first expect it to be.
5. I think I just sort of osmosed it by being on the internet and occasionally seeing fanart. Weirdly enough, I used to hate it, though! The earliest fanart I saw was not very good stuff, and I became fixated on how bad the color scheme for the trolls looked. This gave me a very poor impression of Homestuck, and I spent nearly a year talking smack about it and avoiding friends who got into it. Then fireholly and gheofabulousduk got into it (both people who I trust in terms of taste), and I was told by the latter as well as some of his friends at my school that it was actually very good! But it wasn't until kiri_no_tanuki started spamming me with good fanart of the trolls that I finally gave in and read it. The rest is history.
