Since SHINING FORCE II was released for the virtual console this week I've been playing that a lot, no time for journal entries! Nintendo is really lucky, I had just started a new game on an emulator. They did leave me with blue balls for a year and a half or so after announcing it for the VC, bastards. Anyway it still fucking rules, I am so happy to be able to play it again.

In other news they've announced the full cast for Dissidia: Final Fantasy

Team Cosmos: Warrior of Light, Frionel (Firion, French Fries), Onion Knight, Cecil(woo!), Bartz (ahahaha), Terra (hells yeah), Cloud, Squall, Zidane, Tidus.

Team Chaos: Garland, The Emperor, Cloud of Darkness, Golbez, Exdeath, Kefka, Sephiroth, Ultimecia, Kuja, Jecht.

I really wonder how they're going to work out the fact that Garland, Golbez and Exdeath look way too much alike, not to mention the fact that the Cloud of Darkness is basically a cloud of gas with boobs.

It seems a little weird to me that they chose Jecht to represent FFX instead of Seymour. I never thought about all the armored guys, though - that's a good point.

Seymour is a more logical choice for sure, but I guess Jecht is a better choice than... whatever the heck the "real" last boss of FFX was. I suppose since SIN IS... JECHT and all that, I can accept it. I don't really care anyway since I'll be playing as all the oldschool characters~

Shining Force 2

Perhaps my greatest memory of that game would be this one guy from church who came up to me during confirmation classes saying, "Hey did you rent Shining Force 2 last weekend? I noticed one of the save files was named 'Gilliam' (That's my name). I played a bit on your game and all, hope you don't mind."

Weren't those the days when you'd rent RPG's from the local video store hoping that your save would still be there the next time it wouldn't already be checked out by the time you got there on Friday? XD;;

Here's to some Bright Honey on Cheerful Bread for playing through that classic again!

That's awesome. I think we've discussed the lost art of rental save files before, it's kind of a magical thing that's died out as a result of memory cards. I always wondered if anyone ever played any of my saves, but then nightmarish visions of them throwing away all my valuable items and getting me killed over and over again take over... maybe it's better if they just erased it?

But anyway, yeah, Shining Force II rules. I'm thinking of playing it on "OUCH" after this playthrough and see how long my sanity lasts. Or maybe I'll name everyone KIWI.
