slimequest: (YOU FAIL)

.. which means only nine days until it's my younger brother's birthday, and I have to decide what to get him.

Unfortunately my brotherly influence has gone out the door since I've moved out. He's a gamer like me, likes RPGs and all that, but..

Well basically he has the mentality of a 13-year-old GameFAQs user now (no offense to any who might be on my friend's list)

Basically, he never plays any game long enough to develop a decent opinion on it. He has heaps of unfinished games (I don't know the last time he actually beat a game..) and thinks most of them suck.

I mean, I've recommended games like Dragon Quest VIII, Suikoden IV, Grandia III.. you know, really good RPGs? He doesn't like any of them. He's renting Phoenix Wright now and KIND of likes it but wouldn't buy it.

Besides the shame in being related to such a person, now I must buy him a game for his birthday which is sure to be an agonizing ordeal. I'm thinking of getting him Suikoden V just to spite him (and add +1 to its sales!)

He's also going to be turning 21 which just seems wrong and makes me feel old ;x

How about a gift certificate to like, Blockbuster or something so he can just rent a bunch of games and have to return them soon, since it's not like he'll finish any of them anyway?

Do they even give out gift certificates there?

GameFAQs ROOLZ!

He uses Gamefly to rent stuff, and believe it or not there are no Blockbusters anywhere near him. He literally asked me to buy him a game. Luckily he does have an EB wishlist which I can use for ideas, not that guarantees he'll like what I get him xD

Also: yes GameFAQs is indeed awesome in many regards, but I can't stomach the messageboards for very long xD;

I've known about the site almost since the beginning, and they have some truly interesting FAQs, and a few of the messageboards have really cool people who post some awesome stuff. Unfortunately far too many of the games I like are bashed to hell there (unfairly might I add~), the ones I love get no love or recognition, and it just makes my brain hurt to read the site for too long xD; But that is INTERNET for you!

Sounds like my brother, though at least I'm having aan impact on his choice of RPGs which is starting to pay off. Just get him the least shit game off his wishlist. You'll probably just have to cringe and bear it.
