Hi, I hope everyone on my friends list is well~ xD I come bearing obligatory Dragon Quest news

Dragon Quest VIII will ship with a playable Final Fantasy XII Demo!

Square-Enix really wants this series to catch on in the West. I can't say I'm complaining, soon all you fools will see the light, HAAAAA HAHAHAHAHAAAA

.. but anyway, I hope people who buy the game just to play the demo that comes with it will at least give the actual game a try.

I mean, it has titties in it. What more do you want?

/end Dragon Quest mode

Also, am I the only one who KNEW Suiko V hero was a guy when I first saw him? The fact that Konami had to outright say 'HAY HE IS A GUY' is kind of.. rediculous. I've seen far girly-er guys in games before. In the end, I blame all this on Nanami, cuz nunchucks.

And I am going to murder Konami if they don't release Suikodens I and II for PSP here because I want all those people on eBay to SUFFER, do you hear me? NO MORE YACHTS AND CAVIAR FOR YOU. Oh and it would be cool if we got bugfixed and better translated versions of these games, too.

I agree with this entire entry. A friend of mine made me play DQV a couple of months ago and now I'm hooked on the series. I'm also almost to the point where I think Sugiyama is a better composer than Uematsu, blasphemous as it sounds.

Sugiyama really is talented, I especially like the renditions of his music that the Tokyo Philharmonic does. Every DQ game has had a symphonic album and they're awesome.

I've just barely played any of DQV myself but it's a very good intro to the series. DQIII is another must-play IMO.

Yeah, I've got all the symphonic suites and the ones I've listened to are fantastic.

One of these days you really should complete DQV; it follows the main character throughout about a thirty year span of his life and it's quite fulfilling to complete. I'm having a tough time evaluating it against certain other RPGs, but it definitely decimates pretty much any Final Fantasy game after FFVI, in my view.

btw, DQVI is also very good; I'm about two-thirds of the way through that one. It's significantly more minigame-oriented than DQV, though.

I'm probably going to move onto the NES-era DQ games next. I played and beat DQ1 several times, but that was a long time ago.
