Dragon Quest IX comes out in North America on July 11th so plan ahead now to decide which sandals go best with your DS's color.

It's interesting that we're getting IX before VI, but since Nintendo's publishing it, I'm assuming they want to try and bolster DQ's image in the west before going ahead with VI. I'm not really bothered one way or another, especially because IX looks so awesome.

Here's some more preview pics! The character customization really looks like a lot of fun. See, this is what I'd wish they'd let us do in the new Pokemon games. Everyone's character looking the same is pretty boring.

Amazon has it up for preorder already, so you know what to do.

So excited for this game *A*

That said, though, I agree on customization for Pokemon games. Man, I know I'd love that. They took a step toward that with that one Wii game but I think it'd be a more popular feature if they added it in one of their main stream games.

Yeah, I was super-excited and everything, but I was also wondering why they would release IX before VI.

Then it occurred to me-- maybe they just want to make sure that they keep up with the recent games as they're re-releasing the old ones, so that old fans will still be satisfied (not that we fans aren't satisfied with remakes too), and so that they don't get behind?

Yeah, why is it that the bizarro spinoff games get interesting stuff like that, but the "real" Pokemon games barely get anything new when another one comes out? I could see the dressing up aspect of Battle Revolution put to good use in a new portable game. All we get right now is to select some preset trainer type to represent us when trading or whatever, which is kinda lame.

Could be, could be. The thing that's most interesting is that it's Nintendo itself, and not Square-Enix, which is publishing DQIX over here. So I think that's the biggest reason. If Nintendo's behind it, that means it's worth putting the effort into first, then maybe the DQ fanbase would increase enough for VI to be more of a success than it ordinarily would be.

Can't say I blame them, even if it would've been nice to have gotten VI by now.

Thanks! I keep meaning to make an LJ entry about it or something but I'm lazy right now XD

Here's hoping the big bucks roll in sooner rather than later >_> I mean, there's so many good games out now, for one thing!

I hear ya my friend, I hear ya @__@; I hope you have much better luck than I've had-- it just seems we can't win with the economy. I keep reading all this financial reports that Houston is recovering and it's good to ride out the recession, but I'm not seeing any improvements personally >>;
