Desperate Dragon Quest Housewives

As I'm sure all the awesome people on my FL know, Dragon Quest V comes out next month. And one of the crucial aspects of the game is the classic "big question" - who are you going to marry? It's a much tougher choice than choosing between the Esper or sword forms of Ragnarok, I assure you. Let us discuss the choices, shall we?





Our three lovely bachelorettes are Flora, Bianca, and newcomer for the DS version, Deborah!

Now, we won't be discussing any spoilers or anything here obviously, but keep in mind that your children that you'll have with your bride will determine your kid's hair color among other things. And you'll get to know the personalities and quirks of each girl as you play the game, but for now you can size them up and at least ponder the possibilities.

So, ladies and gentlemen, who looks good to you? The ladies out there may not have ever wondered what kind of woman they'd marry given the chance, but there's a first time for everything. It's a tough but important choice to make which will affect not only the FATE OF THE WORLD but also who you wake up to next each morning.



Conveniently, DQV comes out right after Valentine's Day, so it makes a great "oops I forgot to get you flowers" gift, and a present of a heart-shaped box with a preorder slip for the game inside would melt anyone's heart. Remember, the couple that games together, stays together.

They all look great, but I think Flora is my favorite so far based on first impressions. Or maybe Bianca... I can't pick!

I've purposefully kept myself in the dark about most of DQV's finer points, but I do know that Bianca has the childhood friend angle going for her... but it's really hard to pick no matter what! I hope it has three save slots or something... we should all post about our different wife experiences!

The new girl looks like a really cheap whore. Well, maybe not "really" cheap but come on, that style is NOT glam. >.>

I'm thinking about picking this up, but I'm not really sure. To be fair, it is one of the DQ games I actually haven't played.

I dunno, she's not really showing much more skin than the other girls. She's definitely got a more sexy-focused look, but if she has an awesome personality I could totally go for her. Still, she's not for everybody for sure, which is why we have choices!

Apparently DQV is one of the highest rated in the series, so if popular opinion is anything to go by, this game should be great. I'm just glad we're finally getting it released here after missing out on the SNES and PS2 versions.

I don't really equate "skin" with "whoredom." But then, that'd be me and mine. Maybe I'm using a poor choice of words, but I don't know if "tramp" is much better?

No, I see what you're saying. It's the kind of look that walks the dangerous line between trampy and sexy (made even more dangerous walking it in heels), so it can be either/or depending on a person's tastes. I think, especially standing next to the more plain and conservative-looking Flora and Bianca, it makes the line even more blurry.

But, again, giving us choice is the best part of the whole deal, and we're only dealing with looks at this point, so it'll be up to the game itself to sell us on one of the three. I'm hoping Deborah is some badass woman with confidence in her looks and other interesting personality traits as opposed to falling into a negative stereotype based on her looks.

Deborah's hair style is my favorite, but overall Flora looks really sweet. Bianca looks like she could kick some bum, but I'm still a Flora fan I think. Depends on the personality.

Yeah, I'm hoping Flora can hold her own instead of just being a damsel in distress or something. Dragon Quest might be oldschool and classic, but overdone is overdone!

Based on looks, I think I like Flora the most, but I'd want to see their personalities before actually deciding. And if I play through the game more than once, I'll almost certainly choose someone different the second time through.

Flora seems to be in the lead! I guess she's got that classic look going on that appeals to a lot of people. Plus, Bianca and Deborah seem like they could be dangerous if you got on their bad sides...

If there's 3 save slots I'll probably go for a playthrough choosing each of them at some point.
