Okay I happened upon a technique in a FAQ that details how to get Lucky Eggs quite easily, so I thought I'd share.
But, "eljay username equals slimequest", you might say, "what are lucky eggs and why do I want them?"
Answer: It doubles the EXP a Pokémon gains in battle
Good enough reasoning? Okay then, let's get started. I'm pretty sure you need to have beaten the Elite Four in order to do all this, as a forewarning.
Step 1: You'll need a Pokémon with the Compound Eyes ability, and another Pokémon that knows either Covet or Trick.
I used a Venonat I had laying around for Compound Eyes, and Rotom (TV ghost Pokémon guy) can learn Trick if you use a Heart Scale. Otherwise Take your pick.
(I recommend against using a Pokémon that has the Pickup ability for your coveteer/trickster, you want them to not have a hold item equipped)
Go to the Pokémon Mansion and save right in front of the owner. Talk to him and say "yes" to both questions, he'll then mention that he saw *insert Pokémon here* out back. You want him to say he saw Chansey, because only wild Chanseys and Blisseys carry Lucky Eggs.
[I THINK you need to at least beat the Elite Four in order for him to do this]
If he didn't say Chansey, reset the game and try talking to him again. It's random which Pokémon he mentions, so just keep trying until he says Chansey. Now, for the whole rest of the day, there'll be Chanseys in the garden out back.
(This is the most frustrating part of the whole thing, it gets better from here, trust me)
Now, put the Compound Eyes Pokémon in the lead, and head out into the grass out back. Compound Eyes has a bonus effect if the lead Pokémon has it - it increases the chance that wild Pokémon will have hold items on them.
I also recommend equipping your lead Pokémon with a Smoke Ball, so that you can run from other Pokémon you encounter easily.
Eventually you will happen upon a Chansey. Switch to your Pokémon with Trick/Covet and then use it. If all goes well you will get the wild Chansey's Lucky Egg. Chansey can also carry Oval Stones, and sometimes they won't have anything at all (if this is the case, the game will say the move failed). Just keep at it and you should succeed!
I also got several Light Balls from Pikachu in the garden (they double Pikachu's Special Attack if one equips it) and I ran into several Eevee, not to mention getting to catch a Chansey as well.
I hope this helped at least some of you out there. Good hunting!
Also, I finally caught a freaking Burmy. I mean, crap. Stupid honey Pokémon.
