16-bit megalomania ROUND 2

Wow, has it really been a week since I posted that? Anyway...

Following up with my first post on the subject, I'll toss out some questions to those planning on participating. Might as well make this thing work out as well as it can for us, right?

I'll be trying to get the word out about this thing a bit as time goes on. Remember, this won't start until summer, so there's still plenty of time to sign up. That means you, YES YOU READING THIS RIGHT NOW, can come have fun with us!

Okay, so originally I proposed this as a three games/one game per month during the summer deal. But I've been thinking, maybe it would work better if we did fewer games and gave ourselves more time with each one...? I really do want this to be as easy on everyone as possible.

That means we COULD do two games over a six-week span each, instead. That would give us more time per game and make it less troublesome on everyone, but we'd get one less game to play. What do you guys think?

In terms of what games we should play, I really, REALLY want to play Live A Live, so that's one game slot taken. The others are completely up in the air (to an extent), so if anyone has a game or two they think would fit well in this setup, I'm all ears. I might put up everyone's suggestions in a poll for us to vote on when the time comes.

Any other questions anyone else has, please feel free to add them here, too!

I'll probably be making the actual community for this thing soon enough, so you won't have to endure many more entries in my main journal about this... probably. It'd be easier on you to just succumb to temptation and join us anyway

Hey, I'm a total LJ lurker and might as well be a complete stranger to you, but, uh, I'd like to be a part of the community. If you'll have me. :> I love playing old ROMs and old RPGs even more, but at the same time, I haven't played as many as I'd like to! This sounds like a lot of fun.

(If you're wondering where I came from, I friended you when a Star Ocean LJ community reposted your Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Claude screenshots, because they were hysterical.)

I remember you! Don't worry. You know, it's sad, but I should play more Star Ocean 2 PSP. I kind of played the PS1 version to death, but I do want to play the newfangled version. And take more screenshots. Muahaha.

So that's one more in our group, yay! It'll be fun, trust me. *void where prohibited

Heh, me too. I think the reason I haven't bothered to finish SO2 for the PSP after playing SO2 for the PS1 ad nauseum is because the new voice acting was so improved upon. I really miss the weird battle grunts and phrases from the old game. Opera's goose honks and donkey brays come to mind. Without those, it's just not SO2... *tears up*

They have "undub" versions of some PSP games, where the English voices are replaced with the original Japanese voice tracks. I've actually downloaded Star Ocean 2's version and play it with that, so it doesn't seem so bad. But what I really want are the original English voices added in instead... because you're right, part of the magic is lost without them. I WILL TURN YOU INTO A BEEHIVE
