Welcome to the 21st century
We've got a new computer system at work, which *gasp* uses Windows instead of DOS. They're also halfway-decent computers so I can do stuff other than work-related things on them if I wanted to. I'm posting this entry on the same computer I check people in on, to give you an idea~
Anyway, I've been playing a weird mishmash of games lately. Continuing on my Romancing SaGa playthroughs, I'm almost done with character #3. Unfortunately Romancing SaGa gets kind of repetitive the more you play it, because the quests and final boss are the same for everyone. I miss SaGa Frontier's unique stuff each character got to do. Oh well.
Because I'm getting a bit bored of RS, I've picked up Star Ocean 3 after who knows how long. I've started a new Universe difficulty save in an attempt to get the remainder of the Battle Trophies I'm missing. I want to unlock 4P costumes plz. I think I'll do a Roger & Souffle playthrough for lolishota good times. Then if I ever play 4D mode I can have the two gayest people on Elicoor on my team, aka Albel and Nel.
(I realize now that I always have called Star Ocean: The Second Story "Star Ocean 2", and Til the End of Time is "Star Ocean 3". Technically neither game is called that, but with SO2 it's very close. The only reason I bring it up is that sometimes people annoyingly tack on numbers to games that don't have them originally. Like calling A Link to the Past "Zelda III". It sounds weird.)
Then, to further my prospects, I still need to finish off Metroid Prime 2 before 3 comes out. I have no idea why it's taking me this long to beat it. I should be ashamed.
I reallyreallyreallyreally want some totally awesome RPGs for the DS to come out. Final Fantasy III is what I am looking forward to the most, but I'll probably pick up Pokemon Diamond/Pearl when it comes out too. The only problem with that is that the male trainer's design sucks all kinds of balls. And by that I imply that he is a homosexual who enjoys having men's testicles in his mouth. There's nothing wrong with that of course, I mean, rock on with your gay self, but a BERET? At least the female trainer has a really cool design.

Final Fantasy III
Final Fantasy III is going to own, it's the best Final Fantasy game next to Final Fantasy V. Probably because they both have the Job System. Anyways, my only problem is: A. I hate the shitty graphics that make it look like a PSX Crystal Chronicles. Crystal Chronicles' graphic style sucked; and B. It should be 2 female, 2 male. I don't see a point for only have one female, and it would seem like it'd make more sense if it were 2 male and 2 female. I mean, jesus christ, you've got 4 characters, why can't 2 be female? Mostly it just bothers me because I have a harder time choose male names than I do female.
Additionally, I wonder when Final Fantasy V for GBA is coming out?
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
I hope it'll actually look like Night, like it did in Gold/Silver, when it's night, rather than being lazy twats and making it always look day whether it was night or not like they did in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald. Though, I doubt the game'll be very interesting. Gold/Silver added a bunch of new features, Pokémon, you had that cellphone, a radio, you could traverse both Johto AND Kanto. It was awesome. R/S/E wound up being a huge let-down, though, because it was nothing new. It felt like a huge step backwards.
I also wish they'd just fucking make a real Pokémon game for a home console. With "Next Generation Graphics". I've been wishing for that since the Nintendo 64. And we never got it. I know Nintendo loves money. Nintendo would eat Jew babies for money. So, I don't see why they don't make a real Home Console Pokémon game.

I agree that Gold/Silver was probably the best improvement/innovation we got from one game to another, there was so much fixed and added in, plus the whole "go back and explore the old game's area too". Those are always the best kind of sequels.
I think Nintendo is pretty determined to keep the "real" Pokemon games on handhelds. Most younger players have handhelds and it facilitates the whole trading thing. Plus they're one of the driving forces why Nintendo is still king of portables. Pokemon Colosseum (GC) was okay, it was basically whittled down to pure battling and training pokemon so it wasn't a "true" PKMN game but amusing nonetheless.
I don't have a problem with the FFCC style graphics for FFIII, it makes sense to me seeing as how this is "oldskool style" on a handheld. You couldn't have hyper-realistic graphics, nor should you really try. Final Fantasy IX had the same kind of feel going for it, so I'm game.
I'm just glad the Onionkids have genders now. They were the ambiguous gender foursome in the original, changing from some badass looking Viking one minute to a cute nekomimi-Whitemage the next. The fact that they'll apparently have individual personalities and storyline moments is interesting. I guess having two guys and two girls would have been nice, but I think I'll live. At least it's not the Trap Party saving the world this time.

Why would he be wearing a purse on his head?
I was just hoping for a halfway decent design for the guy
Both Gold/Silver, Ruby/Sapphire and FireRed/LeafGreen had cool looking protagonists (though, the updated Rival design in FR/LG was cooler than the updated hero design). I guess it was about time they had a miss after those 3 hits. As for the heroine -- I only like the bottom half. The pink+black is cool. But her head looks like every other Pokémon female.

I don't see why that doesn't mean they can't do both. GameFreak/Nintendo should be big enough to have 2 teams dedicated to making 2 different games.

The thing is, Crystal Chronicle looked ridiculous. They were odd-shapen. At least the characters look cool in the art and the HOLY SHIT HAWT renders. I wouldn't mind tapping Refia's ass.

I always just gave them all male names, with the exception of a white mage if I was going to have a white mage. White Mages are supposed to be GIRLS. Though, I never really used a White Mage in any FF game -- how pointless they are most of the time. Level up enough and you won't need a damn white mage.

I've yet to even get a DS but I don't want a white one...>>; I forgot what the male PKMN trainer will look like but I remember it looking weird. o.o
But yeah, the biggest jump was from the originals to Gold/Silver/Crystal. I thought it was a shame they didn't have the day/night feature, no cellphone and more than anything else, no way to go explore the other worlds-- that's what they really need to bring back, although I've yet to play PKMN GreenLeaf --;
