Star Trek The JRPG sounds like pure liquid awesome. Do you get to actually pull a Captain Kirk and ruin primitive civilisations by showing them all their beliefs are lies?
Well it's either landing on an underdeveloped planet and not even giving a shit that they can see your spaceship, or TRYING to be a goody-two-shoes and not interfering but eventually going "fuck it" and killing some badguys to save the day. It's set in a more "unruly" ST:TOS-type era so you can get away with that stuff, so it's more fun.
But yeah, Elicoor was awful. I'm convinced, between Nel and Albel, that the entire planet is gay, in the literal and pejorative sense. Then after 3942390 gameplay hours of torture, Maria beams down with her UN TSS UN TSS music and saves you and you can finally get to the STAR part of Star Ocean. Except oops you need to return to Elicoor to finish off the last boss! BOOYA.
Also that hotel scene with Albel and Fayt in SO3 is undiluted fangirl fodder and it's almost embarrassing to watch.
