I realize I haven't updated my own journal in quite a while, and even then, the last entry was just some meme spam thing...

Anyway! Been keeping busy with my usual. I've been watching a lot more anime recently, actually, which is just so terrible productive-sounding. Currently plowing through Gintama like a boss (and enjoying every minute, naturally!) and trying to finish off some older, backlogged titles at the same time. I guess the only "current" series I'm keeping up with are Sket Dance, Nichijou, and C. Which are all pretty darn interesting in their own ways.

Game-wise, the PSN coming back has actually been giving me quite a bit to do. I've been getting pretty good at Arcana Heart 3, which is a first because ordinarily I just skim over the surface of fighting games and never really try all that hard with them. As a nice counterbalance, the new Wizardry game for PS3 has been satisfying my dungeon-crawling needs quite nicely. I really should get back into Etrian Odyssey III after this, too...

Oh, and Terranigma is both "recapturing my lost childhood by playing this game I was robbed of back then" and "playing a really good game" at the same time, which is always a winner.

Real-life wise... uh, I got nothin', sorry. Still stuck at my "not having anything to do with my education" job, but it's really not all that bad. Just glad to have one, really. Considering I lack any kind of ambition whatsoever, it'll remain to see what I actually do with myself from here on out. I'm pretty much ridiculously happy other than wanting slightly more money, so maybe I should just count my blessings?

Oh, and I started reading Homestuck (finally). Just got done with Act 1. How ashamed should I be that I've seen all these movies displayed on those posters, unironically, when they first came out?

So, maybe the word's gotten out by now, but yeah, I graduated from college this week. Major of Spanish with a minor in Japanese. Please don't ask me what I'm going to do with my degree, because everyone always asks me and I still don't have any idea. Hopefully something in the translation business, and if that puts me anywhere near the videogame industry I suppose I'll be happy. I'm probably just going to run away from reality for a bit longer and go to graduate school anyway.

Now that I'm out of school for the time being, that gives me a lot more free time to do... stuff. Mostly catching up with random chores and other things, but relaxation as well. One of my goals is to cut down my backlog of games to something a bit less... daunting? I've started up my own Backloggery page to keep track of all the games that Krile's doesn't. Go ahead and add me if you want, but be warned that mine is going to consist of 99% obscure SNES roms, with a dash of modern games that I'm personally playing that Krile might not be (my own versions of Pokémon, stuff like that).

Hopefully I can at least clear away a few games before DQIX comes out in July. That and Deathsmiles are going to be my new summer games, but if I'm a good boy and manage to finish a bunch of my older ones I'll reward myself with some more, muahaha.

I'll be having more time to update now, so hopefully I can write up some geeky insightful words about some of the games I've been playing, plus I think I've tracked down some Mystic Ark music remixes which I should upload once I've tried them out. But anyway, if I'm slacking on LJ, you can always find me on Twitter. Topics of interest include games, bad Syfy movies, tunas in between breasts, and... YOU! /oldRPGending

... and it wasn't even that good of an update, that time. Okay it was badass, but not particularly full of content.

Anyway, I've been busy with school. My graduation's in May, just have to finish up these two throwaway elective classes! And then figure out what to do with the rest of my life. My plans so far: stay in school forever, hope nobody notices.

I've also become addicted to drugs. Actually that's not true, it's worse: I'm playing Final Fantasy XI again! MMORPGs~~~ *^o^*

Uh, well anyway, I'm enjoying it a lot more than last time. But it IS a hugeassed timesink, which further explains the lack of things to update about. I'm sure you'd all like to hear about MY ONLINE RPG CHARACTERS but it will have to wait for some other time. But if you were to fall victim to this game anytime soon, the Caitsith server might be where you'd find me. Maybe.

"Regular" games-wise, I'm juggling FFXIII, SO4, and now Record of Agarest War. I've got the squish boob mousepad from that with the deluxe edition. It's... very distracting. But now unfortunately I feel as if I couldn't use any other kind from now on. We've evolved beyond mousepads without secondary sexual characteristics. We're in the future, and life is great.

Suddenly! Super awesome file link: Mystic Ark Artbook!

That's about it for now. I've neglected Pokémon so much lately, I'm majorly guilt tripping about it >_>; but if anyone wants to trade or whatever that would probably inspire me to play it!

It's been an eventful holiday! I went and did this, and while nothing can top that... I got some OTHER awesome Xmas presents too.

I am now Xbox 360 compatible, with the gamertag Nocturnal Serph! So, any Xbox peoples out there should please add me as I transition into this brave new world.

Got a lot of interesting-looking games and all that, Wild Arms XF for PSP is fun so far and THE LEGENDARY STARFY IS THE BEST GAME EVER CREATED, CALLING IT NOW. Also Phantasy Star Zero, which I got for my birthday on the 21st, is amazingly addictive and adorable.

I will probably post all about these games eventually, now it's time to go play them. Happy holidays and new year and stuff *woosh*

I can't decide whether the fact that studying for my Japanese final consisted of me flipping through the book 15 minutes before the test began, and yet I most likely totally aced it, is awesome or just plain reckless. Kind of both, I guess.

But I didn't want to study, having to go and take a test on my birthday of all days kind of sucks ass to begin with, but at least it was easy enough. There were actually parts where we were supposed to answer in English but I forgot and wrote it in Japanese anyway. It actually seemed easier to me to do it that way, because I was in the Japanese frame of mind at the time.

We celebrated my birthday yesterday because of the test and various other reason, and it was pretty darn awesome. Of course, having a girlfriend ([livejournal.com profile] krile) who makes herself extra gorgeous for you AND knows just what games to give you on your special day pretty much guarantees this. She may or may not end up finishing her shounen-ai fanfics on the same day, too, but... that's a.. bonus? If she didn't do such a good job distracting me with awesomeness I might have given it a second thought.

I'll probably dump some of the things I got into my Christmas post or something, but for most of the day I was playing Rocket Slime. This game is... I'm tearing up, here. It's orgasmic. Let me put it to you this way: I was laughing for a good five minutes over the fact that one of the enemy tanks, which is a giant tree, is named Chrono Twigger. The Square-Enix merger was done for this exact moment, I'm sure of it.

I also got Castlevaina: Portrait of Ruin which seems to continue the 2D-Symphony-of-the-Night-clone tradition of being great, while having some interesting new gameplay. Our protagonists enter a strange castle where they have to jump into paintings and... collect all the stars... defeat Bowser... the princess bakes you a cake? Wait...

Speaking of cake, because the DS's clock read it as my birthday, the shop in the game can sell you a birthday cake. For 3000 dollars. Was it baked with melted-down PS3s instead of chocolate?

It's also interesting to note that the startup noise for the DS is different on your birthday, and if you enter Pictochat it tells everyone that it's your birthday. Pretty neat stuff.

The other games I got that I've actually played are We ♥ Katamari, which is of course fun and only slightly gay, and Okami, which is one of the most beautiful games I've ever seen, and it's got good gameplay, too! I can't help but wonder why this game was developed for the PS2 since the DS or Wii would probably make better use of the "drawing" thing, but it doesn't detract from the game, it's just a thought.

I think I will go play some of those games now, and enjoy the fact that school is finally over for me for the time being :D
